NISSAN GT-R V-Spec

Nissan’s GT-R was one of the most anticipated new cars of 2007 (not to mention the 5 years leading up to 2007) and what an enormous success it was. In 2008 all the talk has been about Nissan’s next GT-R model, the Nissan GT-R Spec-V.

The Spec-V has been spied and rumored and talked up on blogs and forums but not much in the way of confirmed data has been delivered yet. Today we have been tipped off on the list of confirmed changes in the Nissan GT-R Spec-V versus the standard Nissan GT-R.

The Spec-V Nissan GT-R will be released on the 8th of January 2009

Nissan GT-R Spec-V - The Changes

The Spec-V builds on the already solid base of the standard series II Nissan GT-R with the following subtle changes which set it apart.

Engine/Drivetrain:

• Engine output increased to 485 ps
• Transmission mode selection button has been removed
• Overboost button for increased midrange boost during overtaking
• Carbon brakes

Interior:

• Carbon fibre MFD surround
• Carbon fibre mirror switch surround
• Black interior only
• Silver painted panels are now chrome
• Carbon fibre front seats
• Carbon fibre rear shelf replaces seats

Exterior:

• Carbon fibre grille painted matte clear
• Carbon fibre rear wing painted matte clear
• Carbon fibre ducts in front lip spoiler
• New colour available: Ultimate Black Pearl, this is said to be a purplish black
• Available colours: Ultimate Black Pearl, Brilliant White (new for MY09), Red, Dark Metal Gray, Black

Wheels and Suspension:

• Rays 20″ Forged Aluminum Wheels
• Bilstein Damptronic suspension upgraded, superiour in performance to the Nismo ClubSport package suspension

Optional Extras:

• Dunlop Tires (no cost option)
• Thatcham alarm system
• BOSE Sound System and ETC (Electronic Toll Card system)
• Ultimate Black Pearl Paint - a 577,500 yen option

The Bottom Line

• Base Price: 15,750,000 yen excluding tax
• Fully Optioned: 16,978,500 yen excluding tax

For all that, how does it perform? Well by all means it is faster than a standard GT-R on road and at the track. At Sendai Highland Raceway, where the Nismo and Spec-V GT-Rs get tested the Spec-V was 2 seconds faster than the standard series II GT-R.

How about a Nurburgring time? Unfortunately we may never know what Nissan managed at the ‘ring. All signs point to them not publishing the Nurburgring times going forward.

CLASSIC CAR RACE AT SEPANG 2008

OK guys, this time Terato had a several beautiful shot of the Classic Car Race held at Sepang as a support event for A1 GP. This car was brought from Hong Kong classic car craze(club actually). And one car that really fascinate me is this one,

FORMULA STUDENTS

Hemmmm...itulah tajuknya. Tak berapa pasti samada Formula Students ni sama dengan Formula Varsity yang dianjurkan UTem. Mungkin perspektif dan hala tujunya sama tapi fasiliti dan sponsorship yang lebih kurang@lebih teruk. Formula Varsity telah berjaya dianjurkan sebanyak 2 kali di Malaysia setakat ini. Dan untuk melahirkan pelumba, engineer dan apa sahaja yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan sukan bermotor, rasanya tak salah klau Formula Varsity ni akan dapat lebih banyak penganjur. Mungkin setaraf Cub Prix Malaysia, atau lebih lagi kerana Formula Varsity ni dipelopori oleh pelajar-pelajar sendiri. Bukan ke baik untuk mengembangkan lagi bakat-bakat dan idea orang tempatan. Kita dah pun ada pelajar dari UTP yang berpengalaman berlumba di luar negara bagi Formula Students. Dan rasaya lebih ramai pelajar kejuruteraan dari universiti-universiti di Malaysia yang patut diketengahkan. Inilah pioneer yang boleh diangkat untuk menjadi lebih baik @ terbaik. Ini perkara serius yang patut kita dalami. Kenderaan yang digunakan bukan basikal buruk yang diletakkan enjin mesin rumput. Contohnya kereta UTP yang bertanding di Australia. Enjin CBR600 yang diletakkan di dalam chasis boleh memecut 0-100kmj hanya dalam masa 4-5 saat. Lajuuuuuuuuuuu. Tapi berapa ramai yang tahu? Hemmm..Rasanya we should give credits to them. Harap-harap event macam ni akan lebih diketengahkan. For the sake of Malaysia Motorsports.

2008 REDBULL DRIFT CHAMPIONSHIP

Wrecked Magz covered the event of Redbull Drfit Championship. Well, the 2008 season is over and Malaysian No1 drifter Tengku Djan placed himself at top 16. The last race at Port of Long Beach, California took him to top 16 and the overall winner for 2008 is Rhys Miller. Please remember that this is one of the biggest drift event in the world and i think Tengku Djan done a great job. So this is the edited video of the event and I hope you can enjoy it..TQ

TOP GEAR DID IT AGAIN

Season 12 of Top Gear once again give us the best of the best. On episode 4, they had a VW super car that is Bugatti Veron gone head to head with mighty Zonda F. You should watch this episode because for the first time, the Bugatti did the hot lap at Top Gear circuit and for the first time, 'Captain Slow' have a taste of super car on the track. Hell it was great. But pity, the Bugatti only reach 5th place behind the Zonda F. Power vs weight ratio guys. Come on!!! But, on a drag race, the Zonda F got owned. Big time!! And those three host (which is my fav hosts) challenged themselves with 800km journey from Switzerland to Blackpool, England with only one full tank. They had a Jag, a Subaru, and a VW. A lot of things happened along the journey and I kept on laughing every time they open up their mouth. Especially to 'Captain Slow'.

Well, the reason I post something about Top Gear today is because I love the show. Reallyyy, really love it. And one more thing is, because they make fun of the PUG. Don't know why they hate that French car so much(Well, it's obvious.LOL). And it happen to be that I'm one of the owner. Sigh!! They make fun to somebody on that show who own a 306 and again, it happen to be that i'm the owner of 306. I want to make this straight. Ok. 306 is one of the best car that had been produce by Peugeot and i never been in a car with the same level but better from it. Good handling, great perfomance, so relaxing on cruise mod. A very good car. I'm not saying this because i drive one, but try to live with it. You'll be satisfied. But it's not a big deal anyway. I still love the show. Still love to watch Jeremy, Richard, and 'Captain Slow' run the show. So, check out the show website at TopGear.com. Seriously, they are the best.

MALAYSIAN SUPER SERIES (MSS) 2008 FINAL RESULTS

WIRA DANI BLEW CHANCES WINNING MALAYSIAN SUPER SERIES (MSS) CROWN

Malaysian Wira Dani Daim blew his chances of winning his first ever Malaysian Super Series crown after failing to finish the final race of the season following a driving error at the A1GP Malaysia 2008/09 at Sepang Circuit today.

Needing only five points and an easy seventh place to secure the overall Supercar title, Wira Dani skidded into the grass while going comfortably in second position behind sole challenger Mok Weng Sun. The undercarriage of his Radical SR8 machine hit the kerb while going back into the track before the engine died off.

Through the TV screens, a desperate Wira Dani was seen trying hard to have the engine restart; staying in the car for a few minutes before track marshals moved into to push it to the sides; ending his race and his championship dreams.

Clearly the fastest driver over the weekend, Mok, who scored an easy win in Race 1 yesterday with a massive 12-second margin over Wira Dani; cruised to the chequered flag to take 20 more precious points and his second major title in Sepang.

Mok, who won the 12-hour Petronas Primax 3 Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race with Team Singapore Porsche Club, took his total haul to 147 points to win his first ever MSS title. Wira Dani finished second overall with 142 points with defending champion Dilantha Malagamuwa of Sri Lanka in third with 130 points.

Run together with the Supercar and Supersixteen cars, the Supersaloon Championship saw Malaysia's Drag King Lai Wee Sing winning Race 2 today to move into joint second in the overall standings with 85 points with Sharjihan Ghouse Khalid, who came second in the race.

The Supersaloon Championship had already been won by Boy Wong Yew Choong, who also clinched the 1600cc Supersixteen overall crown despite finishing a poor eighth in Race 1 yesterday. With the title secured, Boy had skipped Race 2 today.

The Supersixteen race was won by Kok Pak Chiang, who recorded his second win for the weekend to install his name as winner for Round 5. Damian Dielenberg and Moo Wei Leong are second and third respectively for the round, which took into account results for both Race 1 and Race 2.

Run as one of the support races for the A1GP Malaysia 2008/09, the MSS is Malaysia's national championship for track racing and pits the best of Malaysian racers against top international drivers in a five-round championship with the final round traditionally organized as support races for the A1GP Malaysian round.

The A1GP Malaysia 2008/09 race is promoted by Carbon Worldwide, which is also responsible for all the commercial arrangements for the event. SIC is responsible for the race management of the main race as well as the support races.
