ROC - SEBASTIAN LOEB KING OF MOTORSPORT

It's been a cracking day at Wembley. Thanks to Freecaster.TV for the live streaming.

And for the third times, Sebastian Loeb was crown as the 21st Champion of Champions. The rally driver who was said may be one of the driver for 2010 F1, gone head to head with David Coulthard(DC) on the final shootout.

First point went to Loeb in the buggy(ROC Car) but with KTM X-Bow, DC sort of handle it precisely to win the second shootout.

The Frenchman took the third shootout with style and the buggy was prove to be more suitable with his driving style and his talent. I mean, rally driver just love to go sideways and the KTM seems to have to much grip for him to handle.

Congratulations to Loeb, and Team Germany for giving us the best show for this year ROC.

Oppsss. One more thing before I forgot. The identity of the Stig was revealed. I don't know if its true or not but I heard the announcer said that Ben Collins is the Stig and he could not make it to the race because he is busy. WTF? Can you simply announce it to everbody like that? We sort of known it already although no one can confirm it. But hell, that's shocking. Well, at least for me. LOL.

MERCEDES - 2011 CLS SPYSHOTS?

If you think the leak 2010 E Class shots are ugly like hell, then take a look at this. Just released by worldcarfans.com.

It was said to be the next generation of CLS. I'm not sure about that. For me the current CLS still got the 'kick' if I may say.

Just take a look at those tail lights. Is that some kind of bazooka? What are they thinking? Seriously, first the 'E'yarkhhh Lexus Wannabe Class' and then this?

But I must say it's to early to comment upon this actually. I mean, it appears to me that something's missing there. After all, it's just a mule. What am I thinking. LOL.

If that ugly thing goes into the showroom(I mean with those tail lights), perhaps a bigger engine like V8 or maybe V10(why not) that could produce more +++hp will pump up the sales. Only a bloody dumb rich guy will buy that. Period!

F1 - Radical changes for 2009

A radical change it is. Yes! FIA and F1 had made an agreement in Monaco meeting earlier and announce a major rule changes for 2009 GP.

They estimated reductions up to 30% for production team and even more for independent team.

Plans of changes for 2010 are also had been agree on and looks like the remaining team are now willing to work as 1 team for the sake of the sport.

Hope it's just not for a while. They need to start thinking that everything will have a limit and now they've already face it.

Changes for 2009

Engine

-- Engine life to be doubled. Each driver will use a maximum of eight engines for the season, plus four for testing (thus, 20 per team).

-- A limit of 18,000 rpm.

-- No internal retuning. Adjustment to trumpets and injectors only.

-- The three-race (engine life) rule voted on Nov. 5 remains in force.

-- Cost of engines to independent teams will be approximately 50 percent of 2008 prices.

-- Unanimous agreement was reached on a list of proposed changes to the Renault engine for 2009; all other engines will remain unchanged. Comparative testing will not be necessary.

Testing

-- No in-season testing except during race weekend during scheduled practice.

Aerodynamic research

-- No wind tunnel exceeding 60 percent scale and 50 meters per second to be used after Jan. 1, 2009.

-- A formula to balance wind-tunnel-based research against CFD research, if agreed among the teams, will be proposed to the FIA.

Factory activity

-- Factory closures for six weeks per year, to accord with local laws.

Race weekend

-- Manpower to be reduced by means of a number of measures, including sharing information on tires and fuel to eliminate the need for “spotters.”

Sporting spectacle

-- Market research is being conducted to gauge the public reaction to a number of new ideas, including possible changes to qualifying and a proposal for the substitution of medals for points for the drivers. Proposals will be submitted to the FIA when the results of the market research are known.

Note: It is estimated that these changes for 2009 will save the manufacturer teams approximately 30 percent of their budgets compared with 2008, while the savings for independent teams will be even greater.

Changes for 2010
Powertrain

-- Engines will be available to the independent teams for less than e5 million per team per season. These will either come from an independent supplier or be supplied by the manufacturer teams backed by guarantees of continuity.

-- In the case of an independent supplier, the deal will be signed no later than Dec. 20, 2008.

-- This same engine will continue to be used in 2011 and 2012 (thus, no new engine for 2011).

-- Subject to confirmation of practicability, the same transmission will be used by all teams.

Chassis

-- A list of all elements of the chassis will be prepared and a decision made in respect of each element regarding whether or not it will remain a performance differentiator (competitive element).

-- Some elements that remain performance differentiators will be confirmed for the season.

-- Some elements will remain performance differentiators but will use inexpensive materials.

-- Elements that are not performance differentiators will be prescriptive and obtained or manufactured in the most economical possible way.

Race weekend

-- Standardized radio and telemetry systems.

-- Ban on tire warmers.

-- Ban on mechanical purging of tires.

-- Ban on refueling.

-- Possible reduction in race distance or duration (proposal to follow market research).

Factory activity

-- Further restrictions on aerodynamic research.

-- Ban on tire force rigs (other than vertical force rigs).

-- Full analysis of factory facilities with a view to proposing further restrictions on facilities.

Longer term

-- The FIA and the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) will study the possibility of an entirely new powertrain for 2013 based on energy efficiency (obtaining more work from less energy consumed).

-- Rules will be framed to ensure that research and development of such a powertrain would make a real contribution to energy-efficient road transport.

-- An enhanced kinetic-energy recovery system (KERS) is likely to be a very significant element of an energy-efficient powertrain in the future. In the short term, KERS is part of the 2009 regulations but is not compulsory.

-- For 2010, the FOTA is considering proposals for a standard KERS system. The FIA awaits proposals.

2008 RACE OF CHAMPIONS

On 14th Of December, Wembley will be uproar with the sweet sound of engine. Yup! The field will be turn into a tricky circuit.

The first Race Of Champions (ROC) was in 1988 and the main reason it was introduce was to challenge drivers to perform by using the same car, and the same circuit. So, drivers will let only their talents for success. Pure driving talents. I like that.

For this year, 16 drivers will compete in series of knockout race. First in their division and after that, it's showtime. Both winners of both division will compete head-to-head to determine who will be the next 'The Champion of Champions'. This is great. Yayyyy..

This is the place where we can watch top names in motorsport to compete each other. Loeb, Schumi, Jason Plato and many more. Well, most of them are drivers from F1 but I really don't care. LOL

SOUTH YORKSHIRE EVOLUTION X POLICE CAR

This just came in. The South Yorkshire police really mean business. They've added Evolution X into their collection. Before this, they had a Evolution VIII and IX for a hot pursuit kind of patrol car. The X are said to be more efficient and more reliable for this kind of hard work.

But they have only 3, whereas we've book 25. I'm not sure whether we're getting the X version but it was confirm that it will be an Evo.

This car could be the tips and the first real looks for our upcoming Malaysian new police patrol car.

The dashboard are all similar. Equip with a computer(onboard Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system), buttons and yeah, that high frequency radio.

Not much for the exterior besides the 'galah' radio aerial.

Wonder how it may looks like for our police force. Remember the rendering from Autojunctions.com? Maybe close enough.

So, Malaysians. Better watch your back from now on. Maybe an Evo with a huge siren will pull you over if you trashing with speed limit, or robing a bank. LOL

PRESS RELEASE

SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE HUNT IN PACKS WITH THEIR LANCER EVOLUTION TRILOGY
  • Lancer Evolution X to be used in the Road Crime Unit
  • Inspector praises Evolution's strong visual impact, performance and safety credentials
  • All-new Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system adds extra value to crime stoppers

Evo X Has Excellent Pursuit Capabilities
The new Police specification Evolution X has arrived with South Yorkshire Police to the great delight of its drivers, and the chagrin of local villains. The new car will be used alongside the ever present Evolution VIII and IX in the Road Crime Unit where proactive road policing is the mission and officers will be driving the new car in cases involving drug dealers and car thieves. "The Evo X was the car of choice because of its excellent pursuit capabilities and the fact that so much time and effort has been put into maximising performance whilst minimising the risk of accidents" Inspector Slack explained.

The Hunted Will Give Up
The new member of the team will be used on the same missions and at the same time as its previous-generation siblings, creating such a strong visual impact that the vehicle being pursued will often simply give up the chase and pull over, knowing they won't be able to out-run the RCU. What is more, the Police Evolutions 'hunt' in packs of three, which, Inspector Slack explained is often enough of a deterrent that high-speed chases are avoided.

Evo X Has The Latest Software and Hardware
Not only will the new Evolution X be one of the most capable performing cars, it will also be fitted with the latest Police hardware and software combinations. The onboard Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system allows officers to check who the vehicle is registered to and if there is anything remotely suspicious about the vehicle.
