SOUTH YORKSHIRE EVOLUTION X POLICE CAR

This just came in. The South Yorkshire police really mean business. They've added Evolution X into their collection. Before this, they had a Evolution VIII and IX for a hot pursuit kind of patrol car. The X are said to be more efficient and more reliable for this kind of hard work.

But they have only 3, whereas we've book 25. I'm not sure whether we're getting the X version but it was confirm that it will be an Evo.

This car could be the tips and the first real looks for our upcoming Malaysian new police patrol car.

The dashboard are all similar. Equip with a computer(onboard Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system), buttons and yeah, that high frequency radio.

Not much for the exterior besides the 'galah' radio aerial.

Wonder how it may looks like for our police force. Remember the rendering from Autojunctions.com? Maybe close enough.

So, Malaysians. Better watch your back from now on. Maybe an Evo with a huge siren will pull you over if you trashing with speed limit, or robing a bank. LOL

PRESS RELEASE

SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE HUNT IN PACKS WITH THEIR LANCER EVOLUTION TRILOGY
  • Lancer Evolution X to be used in the Road Crime Unit
  • Inspector praises Evolution's strong visual impact, performance and safety credentials
  • All-new Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system adds extra value to crime stoppers

Evo X Has Excellent Pursuit Capabilities
The new Police specification Evolution X has arrived with South Yorkshire Police to the great delight of its drivers, and the chagrin of local villains. The new car will be used alongside the ever present Evolution VIII and IX in the Road Crime Unit where proactive road policing is the mission and officers will be driving the new car in cases involving drug dealers and car thieves. "The Evo X was the car of choice because of its excellent pursuit capabilities and the fact that so much time and effort has been put into maximising performance whilst minimising the risk of accidents" Inspector Slack explained.

The Hunted Will Give Up
The new member of the team will be used on the same missions and at the same time as its previous-generation siblings, creating such a strong visual impact that the vehicle being pursued will often simply give up the chase and pull over, knowing they won't be able to out-run the RCU. What is more, the Police Evolutions 'hunt' in packs of three, which, Inspector Slack explained is often enough of a deterrent that high-speed chases are avoided.

Evo X Has The Latest Software and Hardware
Not only will the new Evolution X be one of the most capable performing cars, it will also be fitted with the latest Police hardware and software combinations. The onboard Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system allows officers to check who the vehicle is registered to and if there is anything remotely suspicious about the vehicle.

FORD FOCUS RS 2009

Ford has released a selection of pictures of its stunning RS - a 296bhp hot hatch due to go on sale early next year. I'm not sure if we ever going to see this on our road. Base on rumors, they'll be but as usual, Malaysian could be the last country that receive this stunning car. We've got Lynx RS, why not Focus RS.

This one is a FWD, powered by a 5 cylinder 2.5-litre engine, is capable of 0-100kmh in less than 6 seconds. Something new for this RS is the front suspension system called 'RevoKnuckle'. It was design to reduce torque steer.

Official 2010 Mercedes E-Class Photos Leaked

Hemmm. I saw this on the net. I'm not sure if its true or not but recently we've seen a spy video of 2009 E-Class but it was only a three door version. I don't want to elaborate more but looking at the back lights, does it look familiar to you? Funny.

PROTON ON RIGHT TRACK

THOUGH still a long way to go for Proton Holdings Bhd to be considered a successful carmaker in the world, it is on the right track to be on par with the world’s top car manufacturers.

The national carmaker has proven its skeptics wrong by doing what it should do best, and that is the business of making and selling cars.

Launching of the highly-popular Proton Persona and the new Saga models has changed the company’s dwindling fortunes.

The company is now present in 24 countries including in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.

Analysts feel the company can double its overseas shipments to 40,000 units next year, aided by new models such as Persona, Saga and its latest edition, new multi-purpose vehicle, due for launch by March next year.

The company now exports 2,000 units a month, working out to 24,000 units a year.

The crucial “ingredient” for its success has been “offering the right car at the right time and at the right price”.

Credit should be given to managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Mohamed Tahir, who since taking over the helm in 2006, has been working tirelessly to push forward such a strategy that has thrust Proton on the right track to regain its share in the local and foreign automotive markets.

It was not too long ago when investors and analysts were apprehensive about the national car’s ability to be successful in overseas markets.

They said Proton might face a bumpy road ahead without a foreign partner for the popular thinking then that it needed a strong partner to survive in the long run.

The company had earlier negotiated for possible tie-ups with Volkswagen AG and General Motors Corp but they failed to materialise.

This episode aside, the national carmaker contended it could once again make operating profits on its own by selling more cars overseas, especially catering for the lower-cost segment.

This is what exactly the company is doing now. In the process, the company managed to return to the black in the financial year ended March 31, 2008, chalking up RM162.22 million in pre-tax profit from RM618.13 million in pre-tax losses.

Its revenue jumped to RM5.63 billion from RM4.91 billion. For the first six months ended September 30, 2008, Proton registered RM115.31 million in pre-tax profit from RM41.9 million in pre-tax losses in the same period last year due to a surge in domestic sales volume and higher margins, arising from better product mix and lower discounts.

As of October 2008, Proton’s market share is 33.3 per cent, with a total of 122,351 units of registered cars in the country since January.

Domestic bookings for Persona have reached 59,028 units while Saga 91,127 units.

Given its current momentum, industry observers project that Proton will likely be profitable again this year due to growing market acceptance of its cars.

On the international business front, Proton is now actively exploring into new markets, not only to grow its export volumes, but also to derive income from the development and licensing of technology.

Syed Zainal concedes that it is a challenge for the company to sell cars in the overseas market but again the strategy of having the right car at the right time and at the right price, it can compete with other cars overseas.

“I think it will always be a challenge to sell cars in overseas markets but now we are confident because the cars we produce today is better designed and the quality has improved,” he said at the launch of Proton Persona and Gen 2 Facelift in Egypt recently.

“Our approach in overseas markets is by working with a strong local partner who has been in business for many years. The overseas market is competitive, but we believe there is an opportunity for us,” he said.

Syed Zainal said Proton will continue to focus on its strategy, concentrating on high-growth regional markets such as Asean, China, India and the Middle East North Africa (MENA) for economies of scale.

Recently, Proton launched the Persona models in Saudi Arabia and Egypt in a bid to strengthen its presence in the Northern Africa and Middle Eastern markets.

Proton will be equally busy between December and at the end of January 2009 as more launches are expected, beginning with Oman, Qatar and lastly, Syria.

......................................................................................................................................

After reading this news, it's true that Proton are making a success way to overwhelm the auto industries. But the decision to make 'alliance' with Mitsubishi kept me thinking, WHY? Mitsubishi have a lot of problems right now. They event had to stop all productions in America for 7 weeks. Do we have to save them? Are they forget what Mitsubishi had made us(Proton) gone through? This is just rubbish. Period.

2009 BMW F1 CAR

I first saw this ugly piece of machine was at Paultan blog. In my mind I thought this is just some kind of rendering. But when I google about it, I'm starting to felt a bit 'disturb'. Look at that guys. Seriously, are we living in 90's? That back and front wing looks familiar. Very old fashion if I may say. What are they thinking. And it look smaller. Look at those tires. It's really a freaking 90's.

I'm not saying the 90's F1 cars was ugly. In fact the 90's F1 are better looking and i'll never forget those glory days. Kudus to those era.
New regulation by FIA forcing the research department to watch Back To The Future movie and practicing their 'knowledge' of the movie to the car. This is killing me, but not the race. Maybe they need to cut cost and this is the result. The race are getting worst. Several steps have been taken to save F1 from collapsing. Beside the 'unworth' Cosworth engine, this backwards steps needs to be applied for the future of F1.

NISMO S-TUNE FOR 370Z

Ugly! That's the word for this over done bodykit. They just spoiled the curve of that sexy and FairLady. It's like covering a women sexy body with man's boxer. It's just doesn't work out.

But you can tune your car. If I were to choose between tuning or bodykit, I think you know the answer. It's just to much for me.
