Six-times world MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi temporarily hung up his motorcycle leathers to slip into the one-piece Nomex suit of a top-line rally driver in the Wales Rally GB, the last event in the 2008 World Rally Championship calendar.
Rossi, who has also posted some impressive lap times testing a Formula One Ferrari in Italy, took the wheel of Ford Focus world rally car, run by the official M-Sport team in the UK. 
The Italian is hardly a newcomer to the world of rallying: he took his first win in the 2006 Monza rally. He first tackled the Wales Rally GB in 2002 and the New Zealand Rally in 2006. The 2008 Wales Rally GB was based in Cardiff and ran from December 5 to 7.
